01Your account & eligibility
You're responsible for keeping your license key and your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old - or at least 16 in jurisdictions where parental consent is required for users under 16, such as the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom - to use the app. If you are using the app on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
02License & use of the app
Subject to these Terms and an active subscription (or active trial), we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use SlAcknowledge on Macs you own or control.
Each subscription covers one user and may be activated on up to 5 Macs that you personally use, but a single license may not be shared between different people. You may not:
- Sell, lease, sublicense, distribute, or transfer the app or your license key to anyone else
- Modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, or disassemble the app, except to the extent expressly permitted by law
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the license-validation mechanism
- Frame, mirror, or repackage the app, or use SlAcknowledge, LaserBoy Studios, or Internection trademarks without our written consent
03Free trial, subscriptions & billing
Free trial. SlAcknowledge offers a 14-day free trial of the paid features. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, you must select a paid plan to continue using the app; otherwise the app's paid functionality stops.
Paid plans. Paid plans are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, applicable sales tax / VAT / GST, refunds, and chargebacks. All prices are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise displayed at checkout. We do not store your full payment-card details.
You represent that the payment information you provide is true and that you are authorized to use the payment method. You agree to keep your billing information current.
Renewal & cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled. You may cancel at any time via Paddle's customer portal (linked from your purchase confirmation email). Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period and then stops renewing.
Refunds. SlAcknowledge is backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee: you may request a full refund within 30 days of your purchase, for any reason. Refunds are handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, in accordance with Paddle's Refund Policy. See our Refund Policy for details.
Disputes & fee changes. If you dispute any charge, you must notify us within thirty (30) days of the date you were billed. We may change our fees on at least 14 days' notice (posted to the site or sent by email); continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
If a renewal payment fails, we may suspend access until payment is resolved. After repeated failed payment attempts, your subscription may be canceled automatically.
04Slack & third-party services
SlAcknowledge connects directly to Slack from your Mac using Slack app credentials (bot token and app-level token) that you create in your own Slack workspace. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Slack Technologies, LLC. "Slack" is a registered trademark of Slack Technologies, LLC.
Your use of Slack is governed by Slack's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary permissions in your Slack workspace to create and install a Slack app, and for complying with Slack's terms while using SlAcknowledge.
If Slack changes its API, terms, or service in ways that affect the app's functionality, we will use reasonable efforts to adapt but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation.
05Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Use the app to violate Slack's Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy
- Share or resell your account credentials or license key
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any SlAcknowledge system, breach security or authentication measures, or circumvent any technical measure protecting the app
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent expressly permitted by law
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the app, the license-validation API, or our infrastructure
- Use the app to harass, abuse, harm, or impersonate any person or entity
- Use the app for the benefit of any third party except as permitted by these Terms (no resale, sublicense, lease, or assignment)
- Encourage or enable any other party to do any of the foregoing
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice, particularly where doing so protects other customers or the health of our infrastructure.
06Intellectual property & feedback
The SlAcknowledge software, website, brand, wordmark, source code, visual design, and documentation are owned by Internection, LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. You may use the app while subscribed; nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the app ("Feedback"), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, fully-paid, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, modify, and incorporate the Feedback into our products and services for any purpose. You don't have to provide Feedback, but if you do, we want to be free to use it.
07Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Internection, LLC, LaserBoy Studios, and their affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the app; (b) the Slack workspace, channels, or content you connect through the app; (c) your violation of these Terms or applicable law; or (d) your infringement of any third-party right.
08Disclaimer
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT EVERY SLACK ALERT WILL BE DELIVERED, DISPLAYED, OR ACKNOWLEDGED WITHOUT FAILURE. THE APP DEPENDS ON SLACK'S API, YOUR LOCAL NETWORK, AND MACOS; WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE BEHAVIOR OF THOSE EXTERNAL SERVICES OR SYSTEMS. YOU USE THE APP AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Some jurisdictions do not allow disclaimers of warranties, so this section may not apply in full.
09Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES - INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION - EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so this section may not apply in full.
10Termination
By you: you may stop using the app at any time. To cancel a paid subscription, use the link in your purchase confirmation email or contact support@slacknowledge.com.
By us: we may terminate or suspend your account for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or legal reasons, giving you reasonable notice where practical, except where termination is required by law or to prevent harm.
If your subscription lapses, is canceled, or is terminated, the app's license validation will fail and the app's paid functionality will stop. Your locally stored data (Slack tokens, queued alerts, settings) remains on your Mac until you delete it.
Sections 06 (Intellectual property), 07 (Indemnification), 08 (Disclaimer), 09 (Limitation of liability), 12 (Dispute resolution), 13 (Governing law), 14 (Assignment & general), and 17 (Contact) survive termination of these Terms.
11Electronic communications
By starting a trial or subscription you agree to receive transactional and account communications electronically - including purchase receipts, license keys, account verification, billing notices, security alerts, and service announcements. These communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
12Dispute resolution; arbitration; class waiver
Please read this section carefully - it affects your legal rights.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app shall be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect. The arbitration shall be conducted in New Jersey, or remotely by telephone or video conference at the arbitrator's discretion. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class action waiver. You and we agree that arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis only. Neither party may bring claims as a plaintiff or class member in a class, consolidated, or representative action, and the arbitrator may not consolidate claims of more than one person.
Time limitation. Any claim must be brought within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues; otherwise the claim is permanently barred, except where applicable law prohibits this limit.
This section does not prevent either party from seeking emergency or injunctive relief in court for urgent matters, including to protect intellectual-property rights, or from bringing an action in small claims court for disputes that qualify.
13Governing law & venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. To the extent any claim is not subject to arbitration, the state and federal courts located in New Jersey have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
14Assignment & general
Assignment. We may assign these Terms in whole or in part, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; any unauthorized assignment is void.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the complete agreement between us regarding the app and supersede any prior agreement on the same subject.
15Notice for California users
Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, California users are entitled to the following notice: current rates for the app are available at https://slacknowledge.com. 16Changes
We may update these Terms. When we make material changes we'll email active subscribers and update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to a change, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
